Free Essential Goods Support for Youth Facing Financial Hardship... Incheon Yeonsu-gu Operates 'Cheongnyeon Dream Market'
Support for Youth Dream Package Worth 30,000 KRW Up to Twice a Month
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, will operate the 'Youth Dream Market,' which provides daily necessities free of charge for young households facing employment difficulties and financial hardship, starting from the 1st of next month.
The district has set up the Youth Dream Market, a space supporting youth daily necessities, in a 'shop in shop' format within Food Market No. 1 located in Seonhak-dong, and will provide a Youth Dream Package consisting of food and daily necessities worth about 30,000 KRW once a month, up to twice.
If economic difficulties persist after two uses, various welfare services such as emergency welfare support, basic livelihood security recipient application, and job information counseling will be provided in connection with the administrative welfare center.
The target is young household heads aged 19 to 39 living in Yeonsu-gu who are experiencing difficulties in daily life. The Youth Dream Market can be used from Wednesday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (until 7 p.m. on the last Wednesday of the month).
The district plans to expand the application range to all areas of Yeonsu-gu from October after a pilot operation for one month targeting young household heads living in Seonhak-dong and Yeonsu-dong.
To increase users, the qualification criteria have been minimized, and anyone can use the Youth Dream Market by simply visiting and filling out personal information.
Since donations and food are being supported through local companies, welfare foundations, marts, and resident sponsorships, the district plans to provide items preferred and helpful to young people.
As news of the Youth Dream Market operation spread, support from the local community followed.
