Jeonju City to Operate 'Jeonju Saram Project' in the Second Semester of This Year

[Jeonju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Jeonju City announced on the 30th that it will operate the ‘2021 2nd Semester Jeonju People Project’ to help local youth learn basic knowledge about Jeonju and grow into creative future talents.

The Jeonju People Project is conducted with content where youth learn about Jeonju on their own through coaching learning methods, media literacy activities, story-based video content production activities, and presentations using writing materials on Jeonju’s spirit, culture, tourist attractions, history, and arts.

In particular, participating youth will develop basic learning habit skills on their own through this project and improve their pride and self-directed capabilities by practicing them in daily life.

The main contents include coaching learning on Jeonju writing materials, media literacy practical activities, education on video shooting and editing utilization, team-based scenario production introducing local area and school history and culture, team-based video screening, team presentations on motivation and process of scenario composition, voting and selection of the best works, award ceremony, and sharing of activity impressions.

Jeonju City also decided to conduct non-face-to-face classes using online methods depending on the COVID-19 social distancing level and school situations during the project.

The Jeonju People Project is part of the ‘Yaho Project’ which supports the healthy growth of children and youth.

Since November 2019, Jeonju City has trained 19 Yaho School coaching members who will serve as guides for youth through a total of 12 weeks of education courses.

After a pilot project last year, this year, 180 first-year students of Sinheung Middle School promoted the Jeonju People Project using regular class hours.
