The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 29th that the construction of the Goesan?Eumseong national road, which has been underway for 7 years and 6 months since February 2014, has been completed. This project involved expanding the existing two lanes to four lanes and improving the alignment, with a total project cost of 111.6 billion KRW.
This section had severe traffic congestion due to its narrow width, but through this construction, travel time is expected to be reduced from 40 minutes to 25 minutes, improving travel convenience.
As accessibility to tourist attractions such as Hwayang Gugok and Ssanggok Valley, famous spots in Goesan, has improved, it is also expected to help revitalize the local economy.
