Gyeonggi-do to Hold Bio-Medical Excellent Technology Briefing on Next Month 1st
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Economic Science Promotion Agency Bio Center will hold the 4th Tech Concert with GBSA Bio Center, an excellent technology briefing session in the bio-medical field, on the 1st of next month.
This briefing session was planned to promote the transfer and commercialization of excellent research achievements in the medical field and to contribute to the creation of a virtuous cycle ecosystem in the bio-industry through exchanges among researchers, companies, and investors.
A total of 10 universities, hospitals, and small and medium-sized medical device companies will participate in the briefing session and disclose 24 excellent technologies.
Key disclosed technologies include ▲ Trocar integrated with suture device (MSD Medi) ▲ Automated preparation device for anticancer (injection) drugs (Maintec) ▲ Tumor marking clips and detectors for laparoscopic surgery (Kaimi) ▲ Augmented reality colonoscopy system and monitoring method using it (Seoul National University Bundang Hospital) ▲ Medical plasma platform (Ajou University Hospital) ▲ Intubation and imaging device for inhalation experiments (Korea University Ansan Hospital) ▲ Bioprinted lung chip capable of simulating pathological mechanisms of lung disease (Gachon University Gil Hospital), among others.
The province will find partners such as institutions, companies, and investors interested in joint research, technology introduction and transfer, investment attraction, and marketing partnerships through an online partnering channel and separate technology consultation applications for the disclosed excellent technologies.
Related industry-academia-research-hospital personnel wishing to participate can apply by the 30th of this month.

Choi Seo-yong, Director of the Provincial Science and Technology Department, said, "I hope that the disclosure of excellent medical technologies held by advanced general hospitals and bio-pharmaceutical companies in the province through this technology briefing session will be an important opportunity to strengthen the open innovation system," and added, "We will continue to support the creation of a virtuous cycle ecosystem that can ultimately lead to commercialization through the disclosure of technologies held not only by internal research and development achievements of the Bio Center but also by various institutions related to bio-medical industry-academia-research-hospital in the province."
