[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) announced on the 25th that among the 391 Afghans arriving on the 26th, only those who test 'negative' for COVID-19 after being tested at Incheon Airport will be moved to a residential facility in Jincheon, Chungbuk.
On the same day, the KDCA disclosed this plan in a reference document outlining quarantine measures following the arrival of Afghans and their families. The KDCA stated, "Afghans will undergo PCR testing at Incheon Airport upon arrival and will wait at a temporary residential facility until the test results are confirmed. After confirmation, they will be transferred to the Jincheon facility." It added, "At the Jincheon facility, they will receive a test on the 7th day and another test before quarantine release." Furthermore, "Those who are asymptomatic or have mild symptoms will receive treatment at a residential treatment center, while severe cases will be treated at medical institutions."
