According to the COVID-19 Vaccination Response Promotion Team (Promotion Team) as of 11 a.m. on the 21st, the cumulative number of first-dose recipients was tentatively counted at 25,688,694. This corresponds to 50% of the total population (51,349,116 as of December last year).
The number of people who completed the second dose was 11,517,874, tentatively accounting for 22.4% of the population.
A Promotion Team official stated, "Considering the vaccine supply situation in the third quarter, the pre-reservation results of the 10-day system for ages 18-49, the progress of autonomous vaccinations by local governments, and the trend of leftover vaccine vaccinations, we believe the goal of completing the first dose for 70% of the population before Chuseok can be sufficiently achieved."
For the AstraZeneca vaccine, 88.6% of the target recipients (12,210,529 people) have completed the first dose. The second-dose vaccination rate is 40.2%.
For the Pfizer vaccine, 79.2% of the total target group (14,423,826 people) have received the first dose, and 37.0% have completed the second dose.
For the Moderna vaccine, 63.3% of the total target group (3,364,491 people) have completed the first dose, and the second-dose vaccination rate is 1.9%.
For the Janssen vaccine, all but 197 of the target recipients (1,129,991 people) have been vaccinated.
Looking at the status by target and institution, including nursing hospitals and nursing facilities, medical institutions at hospital level or higher, vulnerable facility recipients, and military personnel, as well as vaccinations conducted independently by public health centers or other institutions, the first-dose vaccination rate is 94.7%, and the second-dose rate is 75.7%.
The first- and second-dose vaccination rates at vaccination centers targeting seniors aged 75 and older, essential travelers abroad, disabled and elderly home visit care workers, veterans care workers, chronic kidney disease patients, seniors aged 60-74, reservists, and civil defense personnel are 80.9% and 33.5%, respectively.
