Geochang County Health Center Temporarily Suspends Civil Complaints Services... Enters Emergency Response Mode
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] On the 20th, Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam announced that it will temporarily suspend medical treatment and civil service operations at health institutions (health centers, branch offices, and clinics) and enter an emergency response system to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infection.
This measure comes as a response to the consecutive confirmed cases occurring over five days since the 15th. Geochang-gun Health Center is focusing all efforts on quarantine measures to early block the spread of COVID-19 infection by conducting epidemiological investigations and expanding the operation of screening clinics.
The health center will only provide medical services for chronic disease patients, while suspended services include general medical treatment in Western and Korean medicine, health checkups (formerly health certificates), employment physical examinations, tuberculosis tests, and other certification services.
Operations at health branch offices and health clinics in the township areas will also be suspended. The county added that the suspension period may be extended depending on the trend of COVID-19 spread to ensure full-scale quarantine response.
