View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] BGF Retail announced on the 20th that it will hold the ‘2021 National Child Safety Drawing Contest’ in cooperation with the National Police Agency to create a safer Korea.
The contest will run until the 6th of next month and is open to all children under 13 years old, who can participate individually or as a group. The theme is child safety from the perspective of children, planned to establish a culture that prioritizes child protection.
The contest has two categories: Good Friend CU for child safety and Child Safety Guardian House. The drawings must include images of the CU and Child Safety Guardian House signboards. The artwork should be painted on 8-cut drawing paper, and submissions must be registered online on the contest website, followed by mailing the physical artwork.
Awards are divided into the Good Friend CU category, which grants the BGF Retail CEO Award, and the Child Safety Guardian House category, which grants the National Police Agency Commissioner Award. Six winners will be selected?one each from kindergarten, lower elementary, and upper elementary levels in each category?and will receive certificates and scholarships of 1 million won each. Additionally, seven winners will be chosen in each of the two categories for the Good Friend Award, receiving CU mobile gift certificates worth 50,000 won, and the first 200 applicants will receive CU mobile gift certificates worth 5,000 won.
The winners will be determined by combining 50% of the internal evaluations from BGF Retail and the National Police Agency for each category and the scores from a public vote held on the contest website. The winning works will be announced at the end of next month, and the award ceremony will be held in early October. The six grand prize-winning works will be used as designs for hot pack packages to be sold at CU in the second half of this year. These hot packs will carry the concept of being the warmest hot pack in the world, with the front featuring the winning artwork and the back displaying a poster for finding long-term missing children.
