The tournament, which began on the 18th at Daegu Golf Club’s Central and East Courses in Gyeongsan, Gyeongbuk (Par 72, 7,378 yards), was established in 1994 to honor the late Songam Woo Je-bong, who greatly contributed to the development of Korean golf. In fact, all past champions, including Park In-bee (33, KB Financial Group), Noh Seung-yul (31), and Choi Hye-jin (22, Lotte), are leading stars representing Korea. Since last year, due to the impact of COVID-19, the tournament has been shortened to three rounds and is conducted under strict quarantine guidelines.
