Canada Mandates Vaccination for Public Transportation Use Including Air, Rail, and Ship Travel
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Soyeon] The Canadian government plans to mandate COVID-19 vaccination for passengers using airplanes, trains, and ships, CNN reported on the 14th (local time).
Omar Alghabra, Minister of Transport, stated at a press conference the day before that the vaccination mandate will apply to "passengers using commercial aircraft, interprovincial trains, and large vessels with overnight accommodations such as cruise ships."
The government aims to implement this policy as early as this fall, and no later than the end of October.
Additionally, by the end of October, full vaccination will be required for all federal public servants.
As a result, approximately 1.2 million local public officials working in government and related agencies are expected to be affected.
