Geochang-gun Surpasses 50% COVID-19 Vaccination Rate
Half of the County Residents Complete First Dose of COVID-19 Vaccine Through Active Participation
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 12th that about 30,000 residents have completed the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccination, which was conducted from April to August 11, with active cooperation from the residents.
The county administered the first dose to 30,761 people, which is 50% of the total population, through COVID-19 vaccination centers, entrusted medical institutions, and public health centers. The number of people who completed the second dose is 12,482, accounting for 20.3%. The difference in vaccination rates is due to the interval between the first and second doses.
Accordingly, the county plans to sequentially conduct advance reservations for vaccination targeting young adults aged 18 to 49 according to the vaccination plan for August and September, aiming for over 70% first-dose vaccination by September 18.
Reservations can be made from 8 p.m. on the day based on the last digit of the birth date until 6 p.m. the following day.
If a reservation is not made during the 10-day rotation period, additional reservations can be made, and from August 22 to September 17, all eligible individuals can make or change reservations.
Advance reservations can be made through the vaccination website, public health centers, and local telephone consultation offices, and individuals can choose their preferred vaccination center or entrusted medical institution.
Additionally, vaccinations will be conducted at three entrusted medical institutions in the county?Seogyeong Hospital, Red Cross Hospital, and Jungang Medical Hospital?as well as at the COVID-19 vaccination center.
