Jeju Fire Station Awards Commendation to Rescuer Kim Minsuk for Saving a Child
[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] Jeju Fire Station (Chief Ko Jae-woo) announced on the 10th that it awarded a commendation for meritorious fire service to Kim Min-sook (born 1975, female), a volunteer firefighter and waterfront safety officer, who rescued two children who had fallen into the water at Woldaecheon last month.
Member Kim Min-sook, belonging to the Oedo Women's Volunteer Fire Brigade, was assigned as a waterfront safety officer at Woldaecheon (located in Naedo-dong) around 11:10 a.m. on the 27th of last month. While on patrol, she discovered two children who had fallen into the water and personally entered the water to rescue them, saving precious lives.
On that day, Jeju Fire Station recognized Kim Min-sook’s contribution in saving two lives and awarded her a commendation for meritorious fire service.
Chief Ko Jae-woo said, “We express our gratitude through this commendation to volunteer firefighter Kim Min-sook, who saved two precious lives with quick judgment and exceptional dedication.”
