On the 7th, Kim Byung-min, spokesperson for Yoon's campaign, said in a statement, "What is the Blue House afraid of that it is turning a blind eye to the truth?" He added, "With the presidential election imminent, President Moon Jae-in and the ruling party have the duty to firmly respond even to the slightest possibility of illegal acts or North Korean political operations targeting a specific politician."
Earlier, the National Intelligence Service and police applied charges under Articles 4 (Purpose Execution), 7 (Praise and Encouragement), 8 (Assembly and Communication), and 9 (Provision of Convenience) of the National Security Act to four activists from a civic group in Cheongju, Chungbuk, who opposed the introduction of the U.S.-made stealth fighter F-35A under North Korean orders. It is known that one of them conducted a fundraising campaign in January for an advertisement calling for the impeachment of former Prosecutor General Yoon.
Spokesperson Kim explained, "Since these individuals carried out anti-stealth fighter activities under North Korean orders, a clear investigation is necessary to determine whether there was any political background, such as North Korean involvement, in the fundraising activities for the 'Yoon Seok-yeol impeachment call' advertisement. This is because there is a sufficient possibility that illegal domestic and foreign acts to interfere in the Republic of Korea's presidential election are occurring even at this moment."
He continued, "Their activities as labor special advisors for Moon Jae-in's Democratic Party presidential campaign headquarters in late April 2017 and their participation in press conferences supporting candidate Moon caused considerable shock to the public. While the truth should be revealed through an investigation free of any suspicion regarding the circumstances at that time, it is necessary not only to rely on investigations but also for the political sphere to actively clarify facts that can be disclosed."

Spokesperson Kim also said, "Regarding the espionage case that has penetrated the Republic of Korea's presidential election, I hope President Moon will take the lead in revealing the truth. It is the president's responsibility to answer the public's questions, including thoroughly explaining why these individuals participated in candidate Moon Jae-in's special advisory group at the time, rather than dismissing it as a 'claim not worth mentioning.'"
