'Up Next Korea' First Artist Selected
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] Apple Music announced on the 6th that it has selected 'Weekly' as the first artist for the 'Up Next Korea' program, which introduces Korean rookie artists to the world.
The Up Next program is a global initiative where Apple Music editors from around the world discover one rookie artist to watch each month from key countries. The goal is to support the continuous growth of artists through Apple Music's global platforms, such as the Up Next playlist.
Weekly said, "We are honored to be selected as the first artist of Up Next Korea," adding, "We plan to deliver positive energy to K-pop fans worldwide through Weekly's unique K-highteen charm."
Weekly, a seven-member girl group that debuted in June last year, released their fourth mini-album, 'Play Game: Holiday,' on the 4th. The album is themed around the excitement and memories of travel.
