Muan-gun Expands Financial Support Program for Mental Illness Treatment

[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Muan County, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) announced on the 4th that it will expand the mental illness treatment cost support project to reduce the financial burden on residents suffering from mental illnesses.
The mental illness treatment cost support project encourages intensive treatment in the early stages of mental illness onset and helps high-risk mental illness patients with self-harm or harm to others risk to receive appropriate treatment not only during hospitalization but also after discharge. Eligible individuals can receive up to 4.5 million KRW per person annually.
With this measure, the outpatient treatment support for early-stage mental illness onset within 5 years has been expanded from the previous 80% of median income to 120%, and emergency hospitalization, administrative hospitalization, and outpatient treatment support applicants can now apply regardless of income criteria.
Those who wish to apply can submit supporting documents to the County Mental Health Welfare Center, and detailed information can be obtained by contacting the Muan County Public Health Center.
