Songpa-gu Develops Nation's First CCTV Integrated Control Center 'Smart Access and Control System'
Expectations for Enhanced Security Including Strict Access Control and Prevention of Data Leakage
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seongsu) has developed the nation’s first-ever ‘Smart Access and Control System’ to ensure thorough security management of the CCTV Integrated Control Center, which contains a large amount of personal video information.
The Songpa-gu CCTV Integrated Control Center manages footage from 2,854 CCTVs installed throughout the district and operates 24 hours a day. It is linked with the Songpa Police Station’s situation room video data and is used for crime prevention, quarantine, and facility maintenance, attracting about 300 visitors from related organizations monthly.
Accordingly, the district developed and has been operating the ‘Smart Access and Control System’ since the 27th of last month to strictly manage access and prevent security incidents such as data leaks at the CCTV Integrated Control Center, which contains a large amount of personal video information.
The development was carried out in collaboration with Win2System Co., Ltd.
As a result, visitors to the Songpa-gu CCTV Integrated Control Center can now enter their personal information, visit purpose, and security pledge on a system kiosk instead of filling out handwritten forms as before.
Afterward, the control personnel verify the relevant information and assign a PC that allows video viewing. The visit date and time, as well as the details of the data viewed, are recorded, enabling more effective and enhanced information management.
The district also stated that amid the COVID-19 situation, visitors can handle their business contactlessly and perform temperature checks through the kiosk, which will help prevent infectious diseases.
In addition, last December, the district developed and filed a patent for a ‘Comprehensive CCTV Management System’ that can resolve crime-vulnerable areas through big data analysis.
Using this system, in July of this year, 12 new CCTV installation sites and 18 CCTV monitoring focus areas were selected, making efforts to eliminate blind spots in crime prevention.
