Due to chain infections related to pubs, churches, foreign grocery stores, acquaintances' gatherings, and gyms, the number of daily cases has remained steady in the 50 to 60 range since the 23rd.
According to Daegu City on the 27th, as of midnight, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in the Daegu area increased by 69 (including 3 imported cases) from the previous day, totaling 11,450 (including 241 imported cases).
Among these, 18 cases are related to a Filipino grocery store in Jung-gu. Following the confirmation of two foreigners who visited the grocery store after attending an acquaintances' gathering in Busan on the 18th, the infection spread to store employees, customers, and secondary contacts, increasing the cumulative confirmed cases to 24.
Another 6 cases are related to a church in Seo-gu, and 7 additional confirmed cases linked to a gym in Suseong-gu, identified as the Delta variant, have been reported. At the Suseong-gu gym, a total of 130 related confirmed cases have been classified so far, including 5 employees, 42 users, and 88 secondary infections.
Another 4 cases are connected to a pub in Dongseongno where a cluster infection occurred, and 6 cases are associated with an auto parts company in Dalseo-gu. Fifteen cases are contacts of existing confirmed patients, and 5 cases have unknown infection routes.
