Sangju Police Station in Gyeongbuk Arrests Suspect for Habitual Drunk Driving Charges
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] A man in his 40s who was caught driving under the influence five times in just nine days has finally been arrested.
The Sangju Police Station in Gyeongbuk announced on the 26th that Mr. A was arrested on charges of habitual drunk driving (violation of the Road Traffic Act) and other offenses.
According to the police, from the 12th to the 21st, over a period of nine days, Mr. A was caught in drunk driving checks by the police five times in the areas of Sangju and Gimcheon city.
Mr. A was found to be intoxicated above the license cancellation level three times and above the license suspension level twice.
He also fled after hitting roadside trees on National Route 25 and leaving the vehicle behind, and is facing charges of property damage for kicking signposts and other objects.

A representative from the Sangju Police Station said, “Due to Mr. A’s repeated drunk driving, it was inevitable to arrest him as leaving him unchecked posed a high risk of causing a major traffic accident.”
