Yeongnam Polytechnic College Strives to Strengthen Capacity-Building Education for Marriage Immigrant Women
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Yeongnam Institute of Technology announced on the 25th that it conducted a ‘Capacity Building Education for Marriage Immigrant Women’ for multicultural families residing in Gyeongsangbuk-do from the 19th to the 24th.
This education, jointly conducted by the Gyeongsangbuk-do Multicultural Family Support Center and the Yeongnam Institute of Technology Lifelong Vocational Education Innovation Project Group, was held over 50 hours in 6 days to foster the independence to live in Korea and to train Korean language educators with a broad understanding and knowledge of Korean culture.
The 25 multicultural students from China, Vietnam, Japan, the Philippines, and other countries who participated in the education will continue to receive ongoing refresher training to strengthen their capabilities as bilingual instructors and will be supported to work as instructors teaching not only the Korean language but also culture and history of Korea.
Jae-yong Lee, President of Yeongnam Institute of Technology, said, “Bilingual instructors are essential for marriage immigrant women to enhance their employment competitiveness through linguistic strengths and to settle in Korea as multicultural families,” adding, “We will strive to enable multicultural families to play a central role in society as necessary members of the local community.”

Meanwhile, Yeongnam Institute of Technology plans to nurture differentiated, specialized, and professional vocational experts through practice-oriented education and field-centered professional vocational training by newly establishing a total of 11 departments in 2022, including Webtoon, The Models, Cinema School, and Overseas Office Administration Employment, aligned with the latest trends and student-centered education.
