Naju-si to Hold 'Citizen Orchestra Regular Concert' on the 17th

[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Naju City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Kang In-gyu) announced on the 15th that it will hold the 'Citizen Orchestra Regular Concert' at 7:30 PM on the 17th at the Bitgaram Lake Park Outdoor Performance Hall.

The Citizen Orchestra performance project has been promoted over the past two years, supported by being selected for the Living Culture Content Revitalization Project of the Bangbang Gokgok Cultural Sympathy Project hosted by the Korea Culture and Arts Centers Association in 2019.

The orchestra is formed through the voluntary interest and participation of citizens who love playing instruments and music.

The current number of active members is 40, including new members recruited in April.

Through a total of four regular concerts held until last year, it has conveyed messages of emotion, healing, communication, and harmony, raising the cultural happiness index of citizens and realizing a cultural community that enjoys culture in daily life.

The citizen orchestra, performing its first regular concert this year, will present an ensemble stage of eight pieces under the theme 'Classic in Movie,' including OSTs inserted in classic animations and films, as well as K-POP.

The performance will be conducted in strict compliance with quarantine guidelines such as wearing masks, maintaining distance between seats, and hand sanitization in preparation for the fourth wave of COVID-19. In case of rain, an indoor performance will be held at the Culture and Arts Center at the same time.

Mayor Kang In-gyu said, "The Citizen Orchestra is the driving force of Naju, a cultural happiness city where everyone can enjoy culture close to their daily lives without exclusion," and added, "I applaud the passion and efforts of the members, artistic director, and conductor who will deliver messages of happiness and healing through beautiful melodies."
