Lee Jae-myung "I Personally Like Moon Jun-yong, Share a Kindred Spirit with Cho Kuk... Chu Mi-ae, the One Who Made Me"
Lee Jae-myung, the preliminary candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea for the 20th presidential election and governor of Gyeonggi Province, visited the CBS building in Yangcheon-gu, Seoul on the morning of the 14th and appeared on CBS Radio's "Kim Hyun-jung's News Show," having a conversation with anchor Kim Hyun-jung.

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Soyoung] Lee Jae-myung, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, has taken steps to narrow the gap with the pro-Moon Jae-in support base. He expressed gratitude by mentioning President Moon Jae-in, his son Moon Jun-yong, as well as former Justice Ministers Cho Kuk and Choo Mi-ae.
On the 14th, Lee appeared on the pro-government YouTube channel 'Park Siyoung TV' and said, "I attended a meeting of metropolitan area heads of local governments held at the Blue House on the 12th, and after the meeting, the President offered me a cup of tea in his office."
When asked by the host if this was a kind of consolation or empathy for the emotional hardship, he nodded and said, "I used to be in the position of an attacker or pursuer, but these days I have a defensive image, so I am not used to it."
He then evaluated Moon Jun-yong's continued active stance on Facebook by saying, "He is someone I personally like," and "Looking back over time, it is the most desirable attitude." He added, "(Jun-yong) thinks in a style similar to mine. He won't accept benefits from the President, but he also won't suffer harm. Let's do things by the book. So he acts confidently."
Regarding former Justice Minister Cho Kuk, he claimed, "He was a victim of selective justice. Former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-youl exercised selective justice. He picked and prosecuted at will."

He continued, "(Former Prosecutor General Yoon) played the media and conducted a witch hunt against (former Minister Cho). I suffered the same way." He also boasted of his close relationship by saying, "I often keep in touch with former Minister Cho."
Regarding prosecutorial reform, he said, "I personally suffered a great deal," and added, "I can't help but say that former Minister Cho and I share the same hardship."
About former Prosecutor General Yoon, he said, "(He has) the greatest chance (as the unified opposition candidate)," and "It would not be good if Yoon's (support rate) drops too quickly. From the party's perspective, having a strong opponent like Yoon Seok-youl strengthens internal unity." However, he criticized, "For someone who wants to do politics, studying now means they are not prepared."
He also said, "Former Justice Minister Choo Mi-ae is the person who made me," and "When Choo was party leader, I almost got 'out' of the party. If she hadn't been party leader, I probably would have been stripped of my party membership."
Lee emphasized, "I owe a great deal to former Minister Choo," and "She has helped me a lot and rescued me when I was in trouble."
