"Though Troubled by the Confusion, the Allegations Are Not True"
Singer Kim Minjong has announced plans for legal action, describing rapper MC Mong's allegations of illegal gambling as "clearly false information."
Law firm OKIMS, acting as Kim Minjong's legal representative, stated on the 19th, "None of the content about Kim Minjong being circulated online is true." They added, "Malicious defamation reports are spreading without any fact-checking or opportunity for rebuttal," and emphasized, "The mental anguish and reputational damage suffered by the artist and his family has reached a serious level."
Kim Minjong also personally expressed his feelings on the same day. He said, "My name has been mentioned in various stories, causing concern to many people, and I feel heavy-hearted. However, I want to make it clear that the allegations currently being raised are not true." He continued, "To avoid disappointing the many people who have trusted and supported me over the years, I will respond with both caution and determination."
Previously, on the 18th, MC Mong raised suspicions about a celebrity's involvement in illegal gambling during a live broadcast on social media. He claimed that there is a gambling group where tens of billions of won are wagered, and mentioned that Kim Minjong had received money and a Rolls-Royce vehicle from a particular individual involved.
