On the same day, Jeong shared an article titled "Is Choi Jae-hyung a substitute for Yoon Seok-yeol or a firestarter for the opposition?" on his Facebook, and criticized, "Whether you run for president after being Prosecutor General or after being Auditor General, neither the substitute nor the one being substituted can stop a fly with a mosquito or stop a mosquito with a fly." He added, "Even if they try to stop it, what does it matter? They are not substitutes."
Earlier, last month, Jeong also voiced criticism toward former Auditor General Choi, who had expressed his intention to resign. He said, "Is it the season of betrayal? A person who has betrayed once will betray again, and once someone opens the path of betrayal, a line of imitators follows." He directly addressed, "Can someone who was an independence activist immediately become a pro-Japanese collaborator just because their independence movement line does not match?"
He continued, "The most foolish person in the world is someone who was an independence activist all their life but turned into a pro-Japanese collaborator on August 14, and the most cunning person is someone who was a pro-Japanese collaborator all their life but pretends to be an independence activist on August 16."
Jeong also said, "When the squid jumps, the mudfish jumps too; both squid and mudfish are just products of desire," and added, "They may present plausible justifications, but in the eyes of the people, they are just small fish caught in the net." He concluded by saying, "Both squid and mudfish will become an eyesore."
