[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Choi Min-cheol, former head of the Gwangju Metropolitan City Fire Safety Headquarters (52), has been appointed as the principal of the Gyeonggi-do Fire Academy.
Principal Choi Min-cheol entered the fire service in 2005 through a career recruitment after passing the 44th Judicial Examination. Since then, he has been recognized as an expert with extensive experience in disaster sites and fire policy fields, having served as Sokcho Fire Station Chief, 119 Life Safety Division Chief at the Ministry of Public Safety and Security, 119 Rescue Division Chief at the National Fire Agency, and head of the Gwangju Metropolitan City Fire Safety Headquarters.
