Unusual Outbreak from a Pub, Resurfacing in Daegu... Daily New Cases Rise to 19, Gyeongbuk Reports 9 Positive Cases

According to Daegu city health authorities on the 9th, as of midnight, the cumulative number of COVID-19 confirmed cases increased by 19 from the previous day to 10,686. By region, Suseong-gu and Dalseo-gu each reported 4 cases, Nam-gu and Dalseong-gun each 3 cases, Jung-gu 2 cases, and Seo-gu, Buk-gu, and Dong-gu each 1 case.
Among these, 5 cases are related to a pub in Dongseong-ro, Jung-gu. Following the confirmation of the owner on the 6th, the infections spread to part-time workers, customers, and patrons of another pub in the same building, bringing the total confirmed cases to 13.
Three more cases were confirmed among contacts of a karaoke pub worker who tested positive the previous day. The infected employee was confirmed to have worked at 10 karaoke pubs in the Dalseo-gu and Nam-gu areas around the time symptoms began, prompting emergency measures at those establishments.
Contacts of confirmed cases from Seoul, Busan, and Daegu also tested positive, with one case each.
Three cases are classified as 'unknown transmission' or 'dark cases,' with epidemiological investigations ongoing by health authorities.
Additionally, three confirmed cases were reported among arrivals from Myanmar, the Philippines, and Saudi Arabia.
In Gyeongbuk Province, 9 new confirmed cases were reported.
According to Gyeongbuk provincial health authorities on the 9th, as of midnight, confirmed cases increased by 5 in Gyeongsan and by 1 each in Andong, Gumi, Yeongyang, and Cheongdo, totaling 5,017 cases.
In Gyeongsan, three infections were among acquaintances or family of confirmed cases from Nowon-gu, Seoul; Jung-gu, Daegu; and Gyeongsan, while two 'dark cases' are under epidemiological investigation.

In Gumi, one case with an unknown infection route was confirmed. The case in Andong had contact with a confirmed case from Seo-gu, Daegu; the Yeongyang case had contact with a confirmed case from Ansan, Gyeonggi; and the Cheongdo case had contact with a confirmed case from Jung-gu, Daegu.
