Ministry of the Interior and Safety Operates Joint Free Repair Teams with Three Major Home Appliance Companies in Iksan and Jindo for Heavy Rain Damage During the Monsoon Season
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the 9th that it will operate a "Joint Free Repair Team of Three Home Appliance Companies" to provide free repairs for home appliances in Iksan City, Jeonbuk, and Jindo County, Jeonnam, where 515 houses and commercial buildings were flooded and suffered significant damage due to heavy rains during this monsoon season.
Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, and Winia Dimchae & Winia Electronics, the three home appliance companies, have set up repair service locations at the Maeil Market parking lot in Iksan, Jeonbuk, and Jogeum Market in Jindo, Jeonnam, starting today to operate the "Joint Free Repair Team of Three Home Appliance Companies." The joint free repair team is scheduled to operate until the 16th, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and the joint free repairs will be conducted as follows.
Inspection and repair of damaged home appliances are basically free of charge, but some key parts will be charged (50-100% of the parts cost). For large home appliances, service staff will visit the affected homes to perform repairs, while for small home appliances, affected residents can bring their products to the joint free repair team locations.
Residents of Iksan City, Jeonbuk, and Jindo County, Jeonnam, who suffered home appliance flood damage due to this heavy rain can receive services from the joint free repair teams operating in those areas. Additionally, if home appliances were damaged by flooding in other regions, free repair services by manufacturer-specific mobile teams can be received through individual service centers by region.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety supports local governments (Iksan City, Jindo County) by providing facilities, supplies, and locations to ensure the efficient operation of the joint free repair teams, and the three home appliance companies are deploying about 42 dedicated personnel for repairs and dispatching around 30 pieces of necessary equipment to the joint free repair teams.
