KISA Builds 800 Million Dataset Based on AI Security Core Technologies
Two Areas: Malware and Security Incidents
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] The government is establishing a cyber security foundation using intelligent information technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and big data.
The Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) announced on the 8th that it has launched the 'Cybersecurity AI Dataset Construction Project.' This project is part of the 'K-Cyber Defense Promotion Strategy' jointly promoted by KISA and the Ministry of Science and ICT.
Public and private experts in the field of cyber incident response are collaborating to create a virtuous cycle environment (collection, processing, verification, opening) for building cybersecurity AI datasets. The project aims to establish a foundation that can proactively respond to the rapidly increasing new and mutated security threats by promoting the intelligence of domestic security technologies.
The dataset construction areas include ▲malware (400 million cases) and ▲security incidents (400 million cases). KISA plans to build a large-scale AI dataset of over 800 million cases by the end of the year and open it to the private sector.
The project is carried out through a consortium of domestic specialized security companies such as vaccine companies and security monitoring firms, and an advisory group composed of experts from industry, academia, and research institutes is operated. Additionally, KISA will establish verification procedures for the results with companies and institutions such as telecommunications, portals, and universities, and discover excellent AI utilization cases applicable to cyber incident prevention and response.
