[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] 11st announced on the 6th that it will hold the event "Korea, Let's Go for Agricultural Discounts (Nonghal)" until the 11th in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs to stabilize prices and revitalize agricultural and livestock product sales.
"Korea, Let's Go for Agricultural Discounts" is a campaign started last year by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs to overcome the domestic demand contraction of agricultural and livestock products amid the COVID-19 situation.
This event is planned by 11st and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs in connection with "Gwangjang Market," a famous traditional market in Seoul, aiming to revitalize traditional markets. 11st explained that it would provide practical help to consumers and small business owners burdened by soaring fruit prices.
Gwangjang Market, Korea's first permanent market with over 110 years of history, is famous for fruits, meat, and various foods. In this special exhibition running until the 11th, shops that have carried on traditions for decades in Gwangjang Market will introduce fruits, meat, and fresh foods, and issue 30% discount coupons (up to 10,000 KRW) applicable to these products. Recently, representative summer crops with rising prices such as cherry tomatoes and chamoe melons can also be purchased at affordable prices.
At Gwangjang Market, Cheondo Peaches (special grade, 5kg) from Gwangjin Fruit, which has sold fruits for over 50 years, are priced at 18,270 KRW; Jujube Cherry Tomatoes (special grade, 3kg [750g·4 packs]) at 12,100 KRW; Seongju Chamoe Melons (special grade, 5kg [about 11?15 fruits]) at 18,270 KRW; and from Dongheung Livestock, a butcher shop operating for 30 years in Gwangjang Market, "Female Pork Samgyeopsal 500g and Neck Meat 500g" can be purchased for 9,520 KRW.
On the 9th at 11 a.m., 11st will hold a "Gwangjang Market Live Broadcast" on its live broadcast corner "LIVE11," introducing fruits and meat from Gwangjin Fruit and Dongheung Livestock featured in the special exhibition. On that day only, Cheondo Peaches, chamoe melons, and more can be purchased at up to 44% discount during the live special sale.
