SK Hynix to Pay '100% of Base Salary' as Productivity Bonus for First Half of the Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] SK Hynix will pay 100% of the monthly base salary as a productivity incentive (PI) for the first half of the year.
According to industry sources on the 5th, SK Hynix announced through the company intranet that it will pay 100% of the monthly base salary as the first half PI. The PI will be paid on the 9th. PI is an incentive paid up to 100% of the base salary depending on the achievement of management plans or production targets set semiannually, and it is paid every first and second half of the year.
SK Hynix has paid 100% PI semiannually every year since 2010, except for the case of paying 100% PI annually due to the fire at the Wuxi plant in China in 2013.
Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics also announced through the company intranet on the same day that it will pay the first half target achievement incentive (TAI) to each business division. TAI is a performance bonus paid once each in the first and second half of the year to employees recognizing the achievement of business division targets, with a maximum of 100% of the monthly base salary.
The DS Division Memory Business Unit, CE Division Home Appliances and Visual Display Business Unit, and IM Division Network Business Unit are reported to have been notified that they will each receive 100% of the base salary. The DS Division Foundry (contract manufacturing) Business Unit and System LSI Business Unit, and the IM Division Wireless Business Unit producing smartphones are said to receive around 75%.
