Leading the Compact Car Market Amid the Car Camping Boom... Kia Launches 2022 Ray Model
Kia Applies New Emblem... Seatbelt Reminder Standard
'Drive Wise' Standard on Signature Trim
[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Kia announced on the 5th that it has launched the facelifted model 'The 2022 Ray' with enhanced safety and convenience features. Ray is a model that ranked first in sales among compact cars in the first half of this year (18,518 units), fueled by the recent car camping trend.
The 2022 Ray applies Kia's new emblem and standardizes the Seat Belt Reminder (SBR), which checks whether seat belts are fastened, on all seats while minimizing the price increase.
In addition, the top-tier Signature trim comes standard with the 'Drive Wise' package, which bundles advanced intelligent driving safety technologies such as Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (vehicle and pedestrian), Lane Departure Warning Assist, and Driver Attention Warning, which were previously optional, enhancing safety.
Furthermore, convenience and design features such as a 4.2-inch color TFT LCD cluster, chrome inside door handles, luggage net (cargo securing net), and rear seat floor under tray (lower storage space) are also applied as standard.
For the Ray Van, the passenger airbag, which was previously an optional feature, is now standard on all trims, improving safety.
Meanwhile, Kia plans to sell camping/car camping customization products this month through the Kia Members online point mall 'Car & Life Mall.' The customization products include camping chairs, tables, storage bags, Ray-exclusive multi curtains (front, first row, second row), and air mats.
The price of the 2022 Ray is 13.55 million KRW for the Standard passenger car, 14.75 million KRW for Prestige, and 15.8 million KRW for Signature, while the Van model is priced at 12.75 million KRW for Standard, 13.15 million KRW for Prestige, and 13.6 million KRW for Prestige Special.
