Songpa-gu Youth Infinite Challenge Project Underway
Songpa Innovation Education District Selects 27 Youth Club Teams... Up to 1 Million KRW Support... ▲ Donations for Stray Animals ▲ Anti-Smoking Campaign ▲ Creating a Landmark Map of Olympic Park, etc.
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) announced that it has selected 27 teams to participate in the 'Youth Challenge Project Anything' and will officially launch the project.
Anything is a program under the Songpa Innovation Education District project that supports groups of five or more middle and high school students in the area or youths aged 13 to 18 residing in Songpa-gu to take the lead in planning and executing any challenge throughout the entire process.
This project aims to strengthen youth autonomy by providing opportunities for young people to learn and engage independently in areas of interest without restrictions on themes such as environment, history, or culture.
The district supports each team with up to 1 million KRW annually for activity expenses, and since 2019, it has granted a total of 75 million KRW to 80 clubs, encouraging the dreams of youth.
Among the 27 teams selected this year are projects filled with creative ideas from young people, such as ‘Dorandoran,’ which produces and sells tumblers related to abandoned animals and donates the proceeds to an abandoned animal protection center; ‘Kkumsadari Ban,’ a club conducting experiential activities for school violence prevention and anti-smoking education campaigns; and ‘Olgong Byeolgok,’ where students interested in photography gather to shoot famous spots in Olympic Park and create and distribute photo maps.
Additionally, the district plans to assign one adult mentor per team to systematically support the youths' challenges.
Notably, among the selected teams this year, four mentors from the Songpa Saem Village Instructors will participate, which is expected to enhance youths' understanding of the local area and foster pride.
