A suspected his ex-lover was seeing another man, assaulted her, and then broke up. After she refused to meet him, he harbored resentment and committed the crime.

Chief Judge Kim stated, "The repeated sending of threatening text messages caused significant harm, and considering the content, the nature of the crime is not good," adding, "Given the seriousness of the matter and the extent of the damage, a corresponding punishment is necessary."
