[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Lotte Duty Free announced on the 30th that it will switch the sales of domestic customs clearance duty-free products at offline stores from the existing pre-reservation system to continuous sales. It also announced on the 30th that it will hold events targeting domestic customers, such as membership grade upgrades for vaccinated customers.
Lotte Duty Free will switch its offline domestic customs clearance duty-free product stores to continuous sales starting from the 1st of next month. Although it has been operating under a pre-reservation system, it explained that this change was made to meet the shopping demands of domestic customers so they can visit and shop at their preferred time.
To commemorate the switch to continuous sales, Lotte Duty Free has prepared about three times more stock than before. It offers up to 85% discounts on a total of 63 brands, ranging from luxury brands such as Chloe, Jimmy Choo, Zegna, and Etro to watches, accessories, and sunglasses from brands like Frederique Constant, Swarovski, and Tom Ford. Offline domestic customs clearance event halls have been set up at Lotte Duty Free Myeongdong Main Store, World Tower Store, COEX Store, and Busan Store. Details on locations and operating hours can be checked on the Lotte Internet Duty Free event page.
Meanwhile, besides offline channels, Lotte Duty Free also sells domestically cleared duty-free products officially imported by Lotte Duty Free through its dedicated online mall for domestic customs clearance duty-free products called 'LUXEMALL', live commerce broadcasts called 'LUXEMALL Live', and Lotte Shopping’s 'Lotte ON'.
Meanwhile, with the spread of domestic and international vaccinations and the active discussion of travel bubbles, expectations for overseas travel are rising. Accordingly, Lotte Duty Free will hold the 'Travel is Coming' event from July 1 to September 30, offering additional offline membership tier benefits to domestic customers who have completed vaccination.
