Kakao Launches Open Source Management Service 'Olive Platform'
[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Kakao announced on the 30th that it will officially launch the open-source management service 'Olive Platform.' Open source refers to source code or software that is publicly available free of charge.
Launched as a beta version last November, the Olive Platform analyzes GitHub projects, the world's largest open-source sharing platform registered by developers, to verify the licenses and obligations of the open source used and provides reports.
It is characterized by building and verifying a reliable open-source database (DB). Any user with a Kakao account can register open-source data and use it for free. The company explained that it will help indie developers and small venture companies manage open source.
