Lee Eung-guk, head of the Elevator University Labor Union branch, explained the reason through the statement, saying, "The process of normalizing the university has reached a crisis, and we are informing the education sector, labor sector, elevator industry, and local community of our position."
He continued, "In 2012, Geochang-gun recruited Chairman Kim as chairman under the pretext of normalizing the university, but Chairman Kim pursued his own interests such as university construction rather than fostering private education and failed to promote cooperation with the elevator industry," he claimed.
Lee also stated, "The organization stagnated due to unfair treatment of faculty and staff, and the university wasted its capabilities due to conflicts with government agencies. Fortunately, it turned to a surplus due to an increase in students, but the faculty and staff who suffered during the process of attracting county and government support projects could not even disclose this externally because of the university's reputation," he emphasized.
Furthermore, "Chairman Kim forcibly made employees donate a significant portion of unpaid wages at the time of university acquisition and illegally demoted employees' ranks," he said. "He illegally amended employment rules by changing the seniority system to an annual salary system, resulting in salary cuts of up to 17 million won," he added.
In particular, "About 80 employees left the school due to financial hardship," he said. "If anyone protested, the response was 'If you don't like it, quit,'” he stated.
He then said, "Unlike former President Kim, the new president is not interested in profit and has communicated extensively with government ministries, local governments, and the industry to normalize the university and improve the treatment of faculty and staff. The union judges the new president as a leader who will develop the university and urges the board of directors to awaken and stop obstructing the new president's management," he emphasized.

The union also demanded, "Chairman Kim and the board members who have dragged the university into a quagmire of corruption and irregularities over the past 10 years must resign immediately and cooperate with the new president's management to support the university's survival and development potential. The board must implement wage increases as compensation for 12 years of wage freezes and carry out normal promotion personnel affairs," it demanded.
