Appointment of Ambassador Joo Young and Deputy Minister Kim Geon among Ministry of Foreign Affairs Chiefs of Mission
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo In-ho] The Ministry of Foreign Affairs appointed Kim Geon, Deputy Minister, as Ambassador to the United Kingdom on the 28th.
Ambassador Kim, who has experience working as a secretary in the United States and China, served as Director of North Korea Nuclear Negotiations in 2007, Director of the North American Affairs Bureau in 2013, Head of the North Korea Nuclear Diplomacy Planning Division in 2015, and Consul General in Vancouver in 2016.
Jang Jae-bok, Ambassador for Public Diplomacy, was appointed as Ambassador to India. He has accumulated experience in multilateral diplomacy, public diplomacy, and protocol, including UN human rights.
Byun Cheol-hwan, former Overseas Koreans Consular Planning Officer, recognized for his expertise in consular affairs, will assume the position of Consul General in Saint Petersburg.
