Seven Eleven Partners with MFDS to Promote Healthy Diets... "Expanding Healthy Convenience Meals"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Seven Eleven announced on the 28th that it will promote healthy eating habits of "less salty, less sweet, less greasy" in collaboration with the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety.
Seven Eleven plans to gradually expand its healthy convenience meals for adults and adolescents, centered around the Hansik Research Institute brand launched last March. Hansik Research Institute pursues three customer values: trust, diversity, and health. Currently, it operates a total of 17 types including lunch boxes, gimbap, and salads.
Seven Eleven is diversifying main side dishes from primarily pork to seafood, beef, and chicken, selecting about 40 home-style side dishes and renewing them quarterly to regularly offer new homemade meal flavors. It is also strengthening healthy meals using seasonal ingredients. In particular, it offers differentiated products using seasonal foods in the bibimbap and salad product lines. In July, it plans to launch Yeolmu Bibimbap and Yeolmu Bibim Noodles.
Seven Eleven provides recommended menus with reduced calories, sugars, and sodium for adults and middle and high school students. The seven items include Hansik Research Institute Tofu Set, Soy Sauce Bulgogi Lunch Box, Charcoal Grilled Chicken Galbi Rice Bowl, Beef Bulgogi Rice Bowl, Spam Mayo Rice Bowl, Tofu Noodles & Chicken Breast Salad, and Chicken Tender Salad. These products contain a balanced mix of the five major nutrients and meet the standards of the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education's Hope Meal Voucher program. The lunch box products are designed to provide a balanced intake of meat and vegetables.
