KOSPI Opens Slightly Higher... Maintaining the 3300 Level
KOSDAQ Also Continues '1000Sdak' Trend
[Asia Economy Reporter Minwoo Lee] The KOSPI is fluctuating after opening slightly higher. However, it still appears to be maintaining the 3300 level.
On the 28th, the KOSPI opened at 3305.46, up 0.08% (2.62 points) from the previous trading day. Since then, it has been fluctuating in the early session, but as of 9:21 AM, it recorded 3304.69, maintaining the 3300 level.
In the early session of the KOSPI market, individual investors alone net bought stocks worth 143.2 billion KRW. Foreigners and institutions net sold 43.6 billion KRW and 102.6 billion KRW, respectively.
Many sectors rose. The medical precision sector had the largest gain at 1.27%. This was followed by banks (0.93%), securities (0.83%), construction (0.82%), and paper & wood (0.66%). Machinery (-0.60%) and distribution (-0.26%) declined.
The top 10 market capitalization stocks showed mixed movements. Kakao had the largest increase at 1.29%. This was followed by Celltrion (1.13%), Samsung Electronics (0.37%), and Samsung SDI (0.15%). SK Hynix (-0.78%), LG Chem (-0.72%), Kia (-0.66%), NAVER (-0.61%), Samsung Biologics (-0.47%), and Hyundai Motor (-0.41%) declined.
The KOSDAQ also opened slightly higher and continues to hold above the 'Thousand Stoxx' level. It started at 1013.47, up 0.13% (1.34 points) from the previous trading day. As of 9:21 AM, it recorded 1016.25, slightly expanding its gains.
In the KOSDAQ market, individual investors alone net bought stocks worth 82.5 billion KRW. Foreigners and institutions sold 57.7 billion KRW and 19.6 billion KRW, respectively.
Again, more sectors rose than fell. The pharmaceutical sector had the largest gain at 1.28%. This was followed by textiles & apparel (0.91%), distribution (0.89%), and construction (0.79%). Publishing & media replication (-0.45%) and general electric & electronics (-0.40%) declined.

Among the top 10 market capitalization stocks, Seegene had the largest increase at 4.77%. This was followed by Celltrion Pharm (1.16%), Celltrion Healthcare (1.05%), SK Materials (0.74%), and HL B (0.60%). EcoPro BM (-2.40%), Pearl Abyss (-0.97%), Kakao Games (-0.90%), Alteogen (-0.84%), and CJ ENM (-0.76%) declined.
