View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] Professor Kim Young-tae of the Department of Thoracic Surgery at Seoul National University Hospital has been appointed as the Asia Regional Director of the World Lung Cancer Association. His term is four years.
The World Lung Cancer Association is an international academic organization dedicated to the research and overcoming of lung cancer and thoracic tumors. Established in 1974, it currently has about 8,000 experts from over 100 countries worldwide.

Professor Kim said, “As a surgeon who has consistently conducted research not only in surgical techniques but also in lung cancer genomics and immunotherapy, I believe I can utilize my related experience to develop various programs for the association,” adding, “I will also reach out to regions that have relatively less academic exchange and support from the association.”
