View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] Dongyang Life Insurance announced on the 23rd that its employees and agents conducted a campaign to 'make pouches for Hickman catheters' to help treat pediatric cancer patients.
The Hickman catheter is a rubber tube inserted into the chest for drug infusion and blood collection during chemotherapy. Due to the risk of infection, a pouch for hygienic storage is essential, but since there are no commercial products available, most patient families make them themselves.
Over the past three weeks, Dongyang Life Insurance employees, agents, and their families made about 200 Hickman pouches and delivered them to the Korea Leukemia Children's Foundation. The foundation plans to distribute about five pouches each to approximately 40 pediatric cancer patients.
