Ahead of Kim Du-kwan's Presidential Bid Announcement on the 1st of Next Month, "Will Prepare Youth Policies"
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] Kim Du-gwan, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, is expanding his engagement with the youth ahead of his official presidential campaign announcement on the 1st of next month.
According to Kim's office on the 21st, Kim met with young people at the Noryangjin Youth Job Center the previous day to discuss youth issues. At the meeting, Kim said, "Young people are feeling a lot of anxiety due to job and housing problems," adding, "As a presidential candidate, I will carefully prepare policies for the youth."
The event was co-hosted by the Korea Youth Governance and Kim's office, with about 20 young people attending, including Park Young-hoon, chairman of the Democratic Party's National University Student Committee.
The participating youth wrote a wide range of questions on paper airplanes for Kim, covering youth policies such as issues at local private universities, job problems, birthrate measures, as well as regional extinction issues, gender issues, and differentiated presidential strategies. Kim randomly picked these questions and responded to them.
Among them, Kwon Hyuk-jin, representative of Korea Youth Governance, handed Kim a proposal containing suggestions such as establishing a youth department and a youth-exclusive budget. Kim responded, "I will ensure these are positively reviewed in the next government."
