Son Jeong-min's Friend Files Complaint Against YouTube 'Sin-ui Han Su' Staff... Receives Over 1,200 Requests for Leniency
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] The friend A of university student Son Jeong-min (22), who was found dead in the Han River, plans to file a complaint with the police against the YouTube channel 'Shinui Hansu' officials.
On the 18th, Jung Byung-won, the lead attorney of Law Firm One & Partners representing A, stated, "We will send a complaint by mail to the Cyber Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency accusing four officials of Shinui Hansu of defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act and other charges."
The law firm judged that 28 videos posted by Shinui Hansu contained defamatory content against A. Previously focusing mainly on political issues, Shinui Hansu is known to have posted about 100 videos related to Son's case since the 11th of last month.
Earlier, A's side also filed a complaint with the police against the operator of the YouTube channel 'Jongi-ui TV' for violations of the Information and Communications Network Act, the Telecommunications Business Act, and insult charges. Additionally, A's side plans to submit further complaints after analyzing approximately 125GB of video evidence consisting of 5,822 videos from 150 YouTubers who continuously uploaded videos related to Son's case.
