'Post-Corona Era and Digital Inclusion' Theme
Discussion on Sustainable Corporate Growth Based on ESG Philosophy
Simultaneous Online and Offline Event in Yeosu
[Asia Economy Reporter Sim Nayoung] The Korean Society of Management Information Systems will hold the '2021 KMIS Spring Conference.' The theme of this conference is 'The Post-COVID Era and Digital Inclusion.' From the 17th to the 19th, the event will be held at the Yeosu Utop Marina Hotel and will take place both online and offline.
The spread of COVID-19 has led to the normalization of non-face-to-face interactions across society and has also influenced new economic domains such as virtual spaces. Phenomena like the metaverse and cryptocurrencies, which have attracted tremendous attention, are examples of this. The pursuit of new business opportunities through digital inclusion is why companies are paying close attention.
At this conference, tutorials and case presentations on sustainable growth and digital inclusion aimed at transitioning to a new management paradigm in the post-COVID era are scheduled.
In cooperation with the Information Systems Society, the Industrial Information Society, and the Internet E-commerce Society, about 1,000 participants from universities, academic societies, companies, research institutes, government, and public institutions will attend, presenting around 100 academic papers. Sessions for doctoral students, university (graduate) student idea contests, special sessions, industry sessions, and tutorial sessions will also be held.

Professor Lee Sang-geun of Sogang University’s Business Administration Department, who is serving as the organizing committee chair of the conference, explained, "The winner-takes-all phenomenon characteristic of the digital age has intensified polarization, which has been further amplified by the COVID-19 crisis. Based on the ESG philosophy that corporate activities can develop through transparent management such as eco-friendly practices, social responsibility management, and governance improvement, we have prepared a forum to discuss whether sustainable corporate growth can be led in the post-COVID era."
