Seoul Central District Court Files Disciplinary Action Against Sitting Chief Judge Over Bribery Allegations

According to the legal community on the 9th, the Seoul Central District Court submitted a disciplinary request opinion regarding Chief Judge A of the Civil Appeals Division to the Supreme Court on the 7th. Additionally, the Judicial Affairs Committee held a meeting that day to discuss the reassignment of Chief Judge A's trial team.
The Judicial Disciplinary Act stipulates three types of disciplinary actions for judges: suspension, salary reduction, and reprimand. However, the specific disciplinary measure requested for Chief Judge A has not been disclosed. The Supreme Court Disciplinary Committee will review the disciplinary opinion and related materials from the Seoul Central District Court to decide whether to impose a sanction and its severity.
