POSCO International, Entering the Overseas Medical Robot Market with Startups
'Non-face-to-face Specimen Collection Robot' Overseas Market Expansion
[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] POSCO International announced on the 9th that it has signed a business agreement with Biot Korea to expand overseas markets in the medical robot field. Biot Korea is a startup in the medical robot sector.
According to the agreement, the two companies will seek to enter overseas markets for the 'contactless specimen collection robot,' starting with joint participation in the 2021 Bio Korea exhibition held for three days from today.
Biot Korea's specimen collection robot can replace the virus specimen collection process, which was previously conducted by medical staff, with contactless remote robot control technology. One doctor can control up to nine robots, minimizing medical staff fatigue and concerns about secondary infections.

In the future, POSCO International will utilize its overseas network to analyze local conditions and establish sales networks, while Biot Korea will support technical sales and business execution. Initially, POSCO International plans to promote the product in six countries where its corporations and branches are located: Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Peru.
