Agreed to Mutual Cooperation to Expand Gangwon-type Job Projects

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] The Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business (Kbiz) and Gangwon Province have agreed to mutually cooperate to support small business owners and SMEs and to address employment issues.
On the 9th, Kbiz announced that it signed a "Mutual Cooperation Agreement for the Expansion of Gangwon-type Job Projects" with Gangwon Province. Attended by Kim Ki-moon, chairman of Kbiz, and Choi Moon-soon, governor of Gangwon Province, this agreement was established to resolve employment issues such as unemployment, job insecurity, and low wages.
Both organizations plan to work together to expand Gangwon Province’s support projects for small business owners and SMEs?such as the Employment Social Responsibility System, Social Insurance Premium Support Project, Safety Mutual Aid Project, and Yellow Umbrella Mutual Aid Support Project?to other local governments nationwide.
Gangwon Province provides the highest incentives nationwide for the Yellow Umbrella Mutual Aid, a social safety net for small enterprises and small business owners. Since this year, it has been operating the Employment Social Responsibility System, which supports newly hired employees at SMEs with 1 million KRW per person per month for one year, totaling 12 million KRW.

Chairman Kim said, "Although Gangwon Province’s budget is smaller compared to other local governments, its support for small business owners and SMEs is always ahead." He added, "We will continue to do our best to discover good policies for SMEs at the local government level and promote them nationwide."
