Won Hee-ryong Urges Yoon Seok-yeol to "Protect the Prosecutors Against the Regime"
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyun-joo] Won Hee-ryong, Governor of Jeju Province, recently mentioned the prosecution personnel changes and urged former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol to take a clear political stance.
On the 7th, Governor Won stated on Facebook, "The prosecution in South Korea has fallen into crisis since Prosecutor General Yoon left," adding, "All the political prosecutors under investigation have been promoted, while the case involving the Deputy Minister of Justice who assaulted a taxi driver is drifting. The righteous prosecutors are all frustrated."
He continued, "We call Yoon Seok-yeol 'Chief Prosecutor' because he protected the prosecution against the living power," and asked, "But where is the Chief Prosecutor now? Can't you see the anger of the junior prosecutors who are fighting alone against Prosecutor General Kim Oh-soo, who is destroying judicial justice, and some political prosecutors?"
