[Asia Economy Reporter La Youngcheol] Chuncheon City in Gangwon Province is promoting a project to improve aging houses in Yaksamyeong-dong as part of the Urban Regeneration New Deal project.
Chuncheon City announced on the 3rd, "The Yaksamyeong-dong Urban Regeneration Field Support Center has been carrying out a home repair support project for the purpose of the Urban Regeneration New Deal project since March of last year."
According to the Yaksamyeong-dong Urban Regeneration Field Support Center, since the first project in March last year, 103 households have received home repair support benefits to date.
This project is a policy that subsidizes the exterior home repair costs for houses over 20 years old within the Yaksamyeong-dong Urban Regeneration New Deal project area.
Applications have been completed up to the 6th project, and preparations for the 7th project are underway.
The support covers repairs for roofs, rooftops, exterior walls, exterior windows, fences, gates, and so on. However, parts built illegally are excluded from the support scope.
Jina Lee, coordinator of the home repair support project, said, "Residents participating in the home repair project have also made meaningful changes by repairing the interior of their homes at their own expense," adding, "It became an opportunity for residents to realize the importance of the urban regeneration project."
