[Seogu=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seogu District Office of Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Seo Dae-seok) announced on the 2nd that it will promote the ‘Community Integrated Care Pilot Project,’ which provides integrated support for housing, healthcare, nursing, caregiving, and daily life assistance.
This project is a social service policy that provides integrated services so that residents in need of care can enjoy services tailored to their individual needs while living in their usual place and coexist with the local community.
So far, integrated care services have been provided in over 6,000 cases to about 2,000 elderly, disabled persons (severe physical disabilities and brain lesions), and mental illness patients in need of care, among whom 75 hospital (facility) dischargees have successfully returned and settled in the community.
Seogu is conducting various integrated care services including ▲housing support (housing repair, provision of care-safe housing and temporary caregiving shelters) ▲healthcare support (oriental medicine primary care, oral care, medication intervention, intensive nutrition, exercise, and rehabilitation services) ▲nursing and caregiving support (visiting helpers, nutritious meals, AI welfare workers) ▲daily life support (care taxis, hospital accompaniment, 24-hour safety calls, welfare equipment).
