Secured Over 200 Million KRW in National Funding, Supporting Employment and Startups
[Asia Economy Reporter La Young-cheol] Yangju City in Gyeonggi Province has secured national funding after two additional projects were selected in the Ministry of Employment and Labor’s 'Regional Industry Customized Job Creation Support Project' competition.
According to the city on the 2nd, two projects were selected in the competition: Kyungdong University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation’s 'Creator Expert Training Project for Online Commerce' and Korea Elevator University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation’s 'Professional Elevator Engineer Workforce Training Project.'
As a result, the city has been selected for a total of five projects in this year’s 'Regional Industry Customized Job Creation Project,' securing 600 million KRW in national funding.
The 'Creator Expert Training Project for Online Commerce' provides systematic professional education to young people, covering everything from online commerce planning to video shooting and editing, helping them start online commerce shopping businesses and re-enter media creator-related entrepreneurship.
The 'Professional Elevator Engineer Workforce Training Project' supports young people aspiring to become elevator engineers by offering practical on-site training courses, cultivating engineers who can be immediately deployed in the field, thereby alleviating the labor shortage in the elevator industry and creating local jobs.
The city plans to recruit 49 trainees for the two job projects and support a total of 34 people in employment and entrepreneurship.
